An elegant French Louis XV style tulipwood bureau plat (writing desk), dating to circa 1930. Featuring a highly versatile medium size, the piece is completely finished on all four sides with matching false drawers on the reverse. This freestanding design allows it to function beautifully in the centre of a room as a partners-style desk or flush against a wall. The serpentine top retains its original tan leather writing surface, framed by elegant tooled borders and wood crossbanding. The shaped apron houses three drawers accented with ormolu mounts, all supported by graceful cabriole legs.
